2021 | Fenestrae
The three works in Fenestrae take their form from the idea and act of looking through a window or portal, with alternate vistas depending on which side the viewer is situated. As such, the painted Perspex panels are attached perpendicularly to the plane of the wall, allowing viewing from either side, and light to pass through.
As oblique grids they are constructed from varying widths and intervals of translucent, rhythmic colour, locking the viewer’s gaze in a geometric matrix. Like the pastime of gazing out of a window, perhaps this window allows for quiet contemplation and dreams of another time.
